Last day in Porto

Today was even lazier than the day before (minus the stupid run). Unfortunately I think I was still ludicrously dehydrated from the run and so I had a pretty nasty headache. It felt a bit like I was hungover! Hmmm probably not good. Carla went to meet another friend that was visiting Porto so I went for a bit of a wander to hunt some food. I found a supermarket and was disappointed that I could find any energy drinks. I had been skulling heaps of water all day but I still had a headache so I figured I probably needed to replenish my salts so I bought ingredients to make cheese and ham toasties which I poured copious amounts of salt on. Then I drank another couple of litres of water. I think now I have drunk about 6 litres today and I have only just taken the edge off the headache.

For dinner I had a Portuguese sausage that was created by Jews so that they could pretend like they were eating pork and the Catholics wouldn't think they were Jewish and kill them. I think it was some sort of chicken/beef combo. I also had some sort of crazy spicy bread with bacon in it. I know I've said it before but these Portuguese really know how to eat!

After dinner I ate more ice cream and some coconut biscuit things Carlas friend had given her. Then I did my best to proof a job application for a position in Sydney that Carla was applying for. Don't know how much help I was as I want successful with any of my applications!

So its my last night in Porto. It has been so awesome here. A very good place to come and relax! This also kinda marks the end of my European adventure. Still gotta so say goodbye to Hayden but that is only a couple of nights in London (where I've already been). I'm so glad I have been writing this diary (even if it has been a time-consuming monster sometimes) because it seems like years ago I arrived in Heathrow and there has been so many good times (and a couple of shit times) in between. As I have also downgraded my U.S. travel plans so I feel that the sun is setting on the holidaying part of my travels as well. And with that pun here is one more obligatory sunset photo (from my bedroom window) for good measure:
