A Hill and (Early) Thanksgiving

This morning we were moving pretty slowly. I was fed some bacon and eggs for breakfast which was much appreciated. We decided some exercise would probably be good for us so we went for a walk up the cold springs trail in the nice forested area of land up the hill behind Santa Barbara. We diverged from the trail to head up a rocky creek bed to look for water snakes but to no avail. There was an exciting rock jump though that had a very small landing area and chances of falling in the water and sustaining broken legs/pride seemed high. 3 from 3 made it though. From the top we got a pretty cook view out over Santa Barbara but unfortunately it was very hazy so it was impossible to get a good photo. This is the best I could do:

We ran most of the way down and were pretty hot when we got to the car so we decided to go for a quick dip in the sea. Holy crap it was cold, nice beach though.

In the afternoon we went to Tristans Grandads house for an early thanksgiving dinner. It was awesome, complete with deepfried turkeys and everything. So much food. Because it was such a nice day it reminded me a lot of Christmas dinner, I still think its gonna be weird being cold for Christmas. There was also lots of sweet potato dishes. One of them had cinnamon in it and had marshmallows on top. It kinda seemed like it should be in the dessert course!

In the evening we decided to have a quiet one and actually followed through with it this time. We drank a couple of beers and watched the Dictator which I can confirm is an awful movie.
