People in the U.S.

Furthermore to the last bit of my last post. All of the locals I have met have been really friendly. Possibly more friendly than all the places I have been in Europe. For example: I got on the train from L.A. to Santa Barbara today and got a seat next to a bit of a rough looking guy. I just put my headphones on and minded my own buisness. About 30min into the trip he tapped me on the shoulder, I took my headphones off and he said "do you want some gum?" Now I bet you instantly expect that there was something dodgy going on because it is just to ridiculous that someone would be that nice, but that's all it was, some stranger being nice. I can see why the U.S. gets such a bad rep in the media but its like the majority of the people that live here take it upon themselves to make up for the politics that go on at a higher level.

It's great here.
