Brussels Musical Instrument Museum
This morning (Sunday) I got up and checked out of the hostel. The cleaning people had also stolen my towel so I retrieved that as well. First port of call was a waffle place recommended by the Use It map. Holy crap, waffles with hot chocolate all over them is amazing. I think the Belgiums only rival their beer quality with their waffle quality. Only 3.50 euro of yum.
I then went to check out the musical instrument museum. It was kinda cool. It has the largest collection of musical instruments in the world and you have an audio guide thing that automatically starts playing the instruments in your ears when you get close to the exhibit. I instantly missed having some company to have a laugh and a yarn about some of the wacky instruments such as these:
I think it was an instrument made out of a rabbit!
Dunno what the hell that was.
Its a snake, its a snake, wooooaaa its a snake.
I also found an old Aolian Pianola!
And an interesting curved Piano:
This musical thing was pretty amazing, keeping everything aligned must have been a nightmare:
I was a little underwhelmed by the whole thing, but maybe just cos I was alone. I'll stop whinging now.
