Dundee

On Monday we went for a wander down the main Dundee road and went to a Museum about the ship "Discovery" and its trip to Antarctica, captained by some dude called Scott. It was really good, I didn't know much about the trip. The boat was built in Dundee and had been used a couple of times for a few other missions than the first one it was built for. Photo:

Unbelievable that these guys went exploring over a hundred years ago. All of their gear was so primitive and so much money was spent funding these amazing adventures. Makes me think of &*&*&* talking about how we have cut back so much funding for NASA, which is one of the last places to spend money on adventuring. Maybe its OK to have different priorities now and spend money on other things, but part of me wonders if we stop adventuring as a race if we start going downhill. But to argue against my own point maybe we are just doing different types of adventuring into sciences and such so we are still pushing the envelope as a race.

For dinner Helen cooked a tasty lasagne and we had some chocolate tart things which were apparently bought from an M&S store (or was it an S&M store?). We went down to the local pub for a quick drink and had a great yarn. Doesn't seem like 12 years since I have seen the Coulls! Unfortunately only a whirlwind trip to see them but hope I can get back some day. Cheers guys.
